Box Jumps
*Note* Start with a small bench or box and work your way upward. After doing this video I realized that I should have used a shorter one for a demonstration! This is another fantastic explosive exercise for your arsenal. I know some people don't have alot of confidence when it comes to vertical jumping so you should start with possibly a small box in a standing position at first and work your way to a seated jump with the same smaller box. From there carefully work your way to a taller box with extreme caution. Tips: Avoid rocking forward as much as possible when jumping. Try not to use your arms while jumping. You may need to initially but eventually tuck or cross them Land as softly as possible on the bench or box. ***If using a ball, make sure you know where it is when stepping down!! The ball can and may go when jumping and could cause injury if you jump or step down onto the ball!
